The Pass-Around Story

What Is "The Pass-Around Story"?

It's something I just made up. Basically, the pass-around story is a story that is written by many different people who each contribute something to the story and then pass the story onto someone else, who contributes to the story and then passes it on, and on, and on.

RULES:

+ You must copy and paste ALL of the story (and rules and explanation) and then add your contribution.
+ You must include your username/icon above your entry. (So we can keep track of where it's been and who wrote what and all that.)
+ Write who you tagged beneath your entry.
+ You must tag ONE and ONLY ONE person to continue the story. (Let them know when they're tagged.)
+ Tag backs are allowed.
+ Contributions should:
      - MAKE SENSE
      - FOLLOW THE STORY
      - End with a complete sentence.
      - Be anywhere from 10 to 200 words long.
      - Please keep it PG-13 and under

Let's See How Long This Can Get…

Kaden sat quietly, looking at three things. His watch, the door and the window. His watch showed that he had three minutes left. The door of the small white room was locked and still. The window had curtains and Kaden couldn't see outside, but he looked at it anyway.
He chewed his lip and looked at his watch again. Two minutes.
Death would be there to speak with him in two minutes.

He eyed the door and rose from the bed, pacing silently to the end of the room, then back.
"Myriad said this would be simpler," he murmured to himself, running a hand through his hair. "'It will be easy to sneak in,' she said." He shook his head. "And since when did I start listening to what Myriad says?"
He glanced at his watch.
One minute.

The seconds went by far too quickly, and soon the watch had only five more small ticks before the appointed minute. Kaden's Adam's apple slid up and down his throat. His skin prickled. His watch ticked softly: tick, tick, tick, tick... tick.
It was time.
With a rush, the door had been flung open. It sent a chilling breeze into the room, rustling Kaden's hair and clothes. There, in the doorway, stood Death.

Kaden’s throat felt instantly dry, and he tried to swallow. The dead air threatened to choke him, dry and harsh. Every moment he stood in Death’s presence was like the first moment, every time he looked at the unknowable figure it was as if he had never seen it before.
Remember Myriad, he told himself. She had a plan and she carried it through faithfully… and now it’s my turn. I can’t turn back… not now.
For it was his job to bring her back.
He had put his hands in his pockets when the watch had given him ten seconds to go, and now he carefully triggered the small device hidden in his palm. Then he stood, dropping the device and pulling his hands out of his pockets.
The trap was set, the recorder was running. All was ready. Now all he had to do was get out of this alive and survive long enough to make use of the information.
The time had come to barter with Death.

Next victim: Burlew
Unexpected, but sort of fun. Thanks for including me, Deliz-sama.
