Description
My companions call me Ak'rar, the Hero chosen from those Beyond the Stars to defeat the Nameless One. Those we meet hail me as their savior, a warrior the entire kingdom owes everything to. It seemed strange to me, then, that I remember nothing of this heroic past of mine.
It makes sense to me now. I am not their Hero, I never was. Who I was before, I still cannot fully remember, but it is clear that I am nothing more to them then a substitute to keep their Hero alive and their monster tamed until they can retrieve the spirit of the "true" Ak'rar. Then they will kill me, again, to make room for him.
I am not ready to die for their hero. He had his chance, and he was beaten. I don't care what they say, they were the ones that tore me away from my rest, what I wish to do with this life is now my decision.
And I am going to find my people.

I have never seen Ithlyn look more heroic then in that moment, with the blood of the Lightslayer dripping from his spear, cloak tattered and skin bleeding, but staring defiantly at Dor'ethin with such, utter confidence, it is clear to everyone he is in control.
Everyone, except the Once-lord.
"I have slain your beast, torn through your armies," Ithlyn continues, taking a step up the low stairs leading to the dais. "Your brothers are being brought in chains before our wizards by King Odel's soldiers. We shall break your hold on them soon enough. Surrender, and you retain what little honor you have yet to lose."
Dor'ethin merely taps his fingers idly on the arm of his ruined throne, as if patiently waiting us out. The chains on Ithlyn's spear clink as he points it commandingly at the Once-lord.
"Surrender!" he says again, and I find myself again awed by his sheer
